As a young woman, CJ lived alone in a small cabin in the outback of Alaska. She's been an auditor on a crab fishing vessel, a wilderness guide, a fisheries worker, a dental hygienist who flew with her employer into remote territories (the bush pilot once scraped a mountain but all aboard lived to tell about it), and a bear lover who's faced down grizzlies. Plus she's funny as heck. I love everything she writes.
A very short, somewhat silly story of unpreparedness. Not really worth the money even if it was free.
The author has stated that she would not be offended in her other books if you thought she was insane or an idiot. I definitely think she is exactly that. Very short read at 10 pages and a truly idiotic story. The author seems to like to brag about her foolish adventures. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!
I'm accustomed to stories that begin with a trip to several brick-and-mortar stores, a few online purchases for those very specific items that only meet exacting standards required when going into the wilds where your life is at stake . . .
CJ just gathers up a few things as though she's going for a walk and sets off into the unknown - well, practically unknown.
Her girlfriend, son, and husband are equally crazy. Her husband actually flies CJ, son, and neighbor to a dropoff point and leaves them!
Even when things go terribly wrong - they just keep on going.
I've never met people like this.
Maybe CJ's little group was the only one who survived . . .
